About the Role

Reporting to the Manager of Communications, the Innovation Multimedia Coordinator supports the implementation of digital communications initiatives that advance the mandate and priorities.

The role supports digital communications activities across platforms, including social media, website content, and multimedia storytelling, and works closely with the communications team and Senior Communications Strategists. In addition to supporting broader digital communications activities, this position holds the Innovation Portfolio and supports communications related to research, partnerships, and emerging work in Indigenous language revitalization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage social media content calendars aligned with the communications priorities and initiatives.
  • Create, coordinate, and schedule engaging digital content for the platforms, including social media posts, stories, videos, and other multimedia materials.
  • Support the planning and delivery of digital storytelling initiatives that highlight Indigenous language revitalization efforts, partnerships, community initiatives, and portfolio-specific work.
  • Coordinate digital communications campaigns in support of announcements, reports, events, and national initiatives.
  • Work with the communications team and Senior Communications Strategists to translate communications priorities into accessible, engaging, and culturally responsive digital content.
  • Maintain and update website content to ensure information is current, accurate, accessible, and aligned with communications priorities.
  • Monitor and analyze digital engagement metrics across social media and web platforms and identify opportunities to strengthen reach, engagement, and audience awareness.
  • Coordinate multimedia content production, including photography, video, and digital storytelling materials, in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Support digital communications planning for announcements, campaigns, public engagements, and special projects across the organization.
  • Help ensure digital communications content reflects the values, brand, and commitment to culturally responsive storytelling.
  • Work collaboratively with the communications team to support coordinated messaging and timely content delivery across platforms and initiatives.
  • Support digital communications initiatives related to research, partnerships, innovation, and emerging work in Indigenous language revitalization.
  • Qualifications Required
    • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, media, marketing, digital media, or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience.
    • 2–4 years of professional experience in digital communications, social media management, or content development.
    • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to develop engaging digital communications content.
    • Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms and digital communications tools.
    • Experience developing multimedia content such as video, photography, or digital storytelling materials.
    • Working knowledge of website content management systems and digital publishing tools.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
    • Ability and willingness to travel across Canada, as required.
    Assets
    • Previous experience working with Indigenous communities, Indigenous organizations, or Indigenous‑led initiatives is considered a strong asset.
    • Bilingualism in English and French is considered a strong asset.
    • Experience using graphic design or video editing software.

    Compensation

    $60,000-$75,000/year
