Registered Nurse- Urology and Gynaecology

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team. The post is based on G1 an Urology and Gynaecology inpatient ward at York Hospital. We are a 26 bedded, recently furbished ward where we provide high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical and medical treatment for a range of urological and gynaecological conditions. We also provide care for general surgical patients and often to medical outliers.
As a key member of the team, you will deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care to patients throughout their inpatient stay. You will work closely with consultants, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and a positive patient experience. Within your role you will be expected to comfort and care for patients following their procedures and when receiving difficult news.
This role offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills in urology and gynaecology nursing within a supportive and friendly environment.
- Maintain a high standard of patient focused care in accordance with York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust policies and procedures
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Provide assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
- Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
- Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient
- Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct
- Undertake duties on different wards/departments as and when required by service demands
- Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures
