Software Development Manager

Remote - Canada Full-time CA $158,400 - CA $247,500 / year

Jane is building its first dedicated Growth group, focused on helping clinics successfully get started with Jane. The team will improve existing onboarding and build a new AI-driven onboarding experience. The AI-first Software Development Manager will lead the developers on the Activation team and partner closely with product, design, and data.

• Lead and coach developers, supporting their technical and professional growth.
• Stay hands-on through architecture reviews, pairing, code reviews, and shipping.
• Own Activation outcomes with product, design, and data partners, adjusting the approach when releases do not improve clinic onboarding.
• Help set the direction for AI-driven onboarding and determine what to build and what infrastructure is needed.
• Support small, frequent releases, effective instrumentation, and experiments that generate useful learning.
• Promote pragmatic and responsible AI adoption within the team and in products for clinics.
• Coordinate with Jane AI and other product teams to deliver a connected clinic experience.

• Experience as a hands-on software developer who has progressed to managing a development team.
• Continues to write and review code and guide architecture and technical direction.
• Experience on a growth or product-led growth team, with ownership of an outcome such as activation or conversion.
• Experience taking an AI product from idea to customers and revenue.
• Experience with product instrumentation and well-run experiments.
• Strong people-coaching experience.
• Healthcare or vertical SaaS experience is an asset, not a requirement.

Canada salary range: $158,400–$247,500 CAD per year. The company describes approximately $188,100 CAD as the accomplished-stage salary. The role also includes equity through Jane's stock option plan.
