Shunt Driver - Class 1; Manual Transmission

Description

We are currently seeking a dependable and professional Shunt Driver (Class
1) to join our team for day shift terminal operations. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy a structured work environment, excel in coordinating trailer movements, and are committed to safety and operational efficiency.

• Safely performshunting duties within the terminal, including trailer spotting, trailer swaps, and yard coordination.
• Move equipment between loading docks, yard lanes, and designated staging areas.
• Ensure accurate trailer placement to support smooth freight flow and on‑time dispatch.
• Conductpre‑trip and post‑trip inspections on tractors and report any defects promptly.
• Maintain communication with dispatch, dock staff, and operations teams to support daily scheduling needs.
• Keep assigned equipment clean and in good working order.

• Avalid Class 1 license with no restrictions, and a clean driver’s abstract.
• Proven ability to operate manual transmission trucks, with recent experience preferred.
• Minimum of2 years driving a tractor‑trailer
• Strong understanding of yard safety, trailer handling, and backing skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced terminal environment.
• Experience with freight terminals, dock operations, or yard management systems is an asset.
