Speech‑language pathologists assess, diagnose, treat, and help to prevent communication and swallowing disorders in patients. They develop or implement treatment plans for stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders, or inappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems, based on assessments and recommendations of physicians, psychologists, or social workers.
Job Requirements Education- Required:
Graduate of a Speech Pathology Program. - Preferred:
Master’s or Doctorate from an accredited Speech Pathology Program. - Required:
Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology/Communicative Disorders and Sciences.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience.
- Prior one year hospital/health‑care related experience.
- Good clinical expertise, communication skills, human relations skills, and organizational skills.
- Self‑motivated, can work independently with little direct supervision.
- Demonstrated interest in professional growth through continuing education workshops.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Required:
Missouri License of Speech Therapy. - Required:
Active license of Speech Therapy in Missouri; CCC or CFY candidate. - Must obtain BLS within 90 days.
- Preferred:
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or be eligible.
