Position SummaryProvide day‑to‑day HR support to production teams. Handle onboarding, hourly recruiting coordination, basic employee relations intake, time and attendance support, and leave documentation requests. Help the site run the Metals Operating Rhythm (MOR) by keeping the Service Tracker, RAG tiles, and visual boards current.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and support employees on the production floor. Answer HR questions and route issues.
- Coordinate hourly recruiting activities: postings, interview scheduling, background and pre‑employment steps.
- Run new‑hire onboarding, I‑9/E‑Verify, Day‑1 checklists, and benefits enrollment support.
- Intake employee relations concerns and document facts. Escalate potential policy, conduct, or safety issues to the HR Manager or HRBP.
- Maintain the Service Tracker, update RAG status for site HR metrics, and close routine tickets within SLA.
- Support leaves and accommodations process by sending forms, tracking returns, and following up weekly.
- Assist with timekeeping corrections, attendance notices, and standard letters.
- Maintain personnel and medical files to policy.
- Support HR communications, postings, and basic training logistics.
- Decide and act on routine process steps that follow established policy and templates.
- Recommend next steps to HR Manager on low‑risk ER matters and timekeeping issues.
- No authority to issue corrective action, approve terminations, or approve offers. May prepare drafts for review.
- Education
- Related bachelor’s or associate degree with related experience.
- Experience
- Prior experience gained through internship or 1 to 2 years in HR or high‑volume admin support, manufacturing preferred.
- Exposure to unions is helpful.
- System knowledge
- Workday or similar HCM
- Microsoft Teams
- Timekeeping systems
- SLA compliance on tickets and onboarding steps.
- Data accuracy in Workday and timekeeping.
- New‑hire paperwork completeness and Day‑1 readiness.
- Positive feedback from production supervisors.
