Overview

Monmouth Small Animal Hospital began in 1989 and has grown to a full-service veterinary team caring for a range of small animals, including dogs, cats, birds, and beyond. In 2007 the practice underwent a major remodel to expand capacity, including 3 exam rooms, a large lobby, and a surgery suite with attached treatment/pre-op/post-op space. We are excited to add a Managing Veterinarian to our team and provide a new generation of leadership to our well-established practice.

, this is the place for you. We perform a wide caseload of soft tissue surgery, including C-sections and orthopedic surgeries. We also handle a diverse range of medical cases including theriogenology. We are equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, and laser therapy, and we are willing to obtain additional equipment as needed.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples; interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medications as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end-of-life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA / BNDD registration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and equipment up to 25 pounds; assist with lifting over 25 pounds as needed.
