Monmouth Comprehensive School is a fully comprehensive, award‑winning school located in the centre of Monmouth. We have a magnificent modern facility completed under the 21st Century Schools programme. The school serves the local community in both Wales and England, with approximately 1,700 students and 200 staff, and is over‑subscribed in every year group.

Role OverviewWe are seeking an inspiring and dynamic Teacher of Expressive Arts to join our dedicated team. This part‑time (0.6) temporary contract commences 1 September 2025 and runs until 31 August 2026.
The successful candidate will deliver learning across Art, Drama, and Music at Key Stage
3. Ability to offer Art or Music at Key Stage 4 would be desirable but is not essential.
- Plan, design and deliver lessons in Art, Drama, and Music for Key Stage 3 pupils.
- Support pupils in achieving the Curriculum for Wales objectives and sustaining progress.
- Participate in safeguarding training and uphold the school’s safeguarding policies, ensuring the safety and protection of all children and vulnerable adults.
- Collaborate with colleagues to embed innovation, support, and ideas across the school curriculum.
Approved teaching qualification, with demonstrated experience in arts subjects (Art, Drama, Music). Proven ability to deliver flexible, creative lessons to a diverse group of learners. Experience of Key Stage 3–4 teaching is a plus.
SafeguardingChild and Adult Safeguarding are key priorities for the School and Council. Candidates must be able to protect children and adults at risk, participate in safeguarding training to the appropriate level, and meet personal safeguarding responsibilities. The appointment is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and requires an Enhanced Disclosure Check. Applicants must comply with child protection, safeguarding, health, safety, and data‑protection procedures and report concerns to the appropriate person.
