Deputy Headteacher - West Monmouth School
Salary: Leadership Scale 19 - 23
To start in September 2026
The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an inspirational and committed Deputy Headteacher to join our senior leadership team. The specific areas of responsibility for this post will be determined upon appointment according to the skills, experience and interests of the successful candidate. However, the role will require the postholder to assume strategic and operational leadership for significant areas of the school's provision.
They will be required to evaluate the standards of provision in those areas rigorously, to plan for and deliver continuous improvement, and to facilitate necessary professional learning. They will also need to effectively lead and manage teams of teaching and support staff through the establishment and maintenance of positive relationships. We are therefore looking for an experienced senior leader with a proven track record of improving provision and outcomes at whole school level.
They should be familiar with a wide range of effective leadership strategies, be passionate about equity in education and committed to removing barriers to learner engagement in all ways possible. The role will also encompass general responsibilities within the senior leadership team such as line management and dealing with day-to-day wellbeing and behavioural issues - experience in these areas would therefore be beneficial.
