A specialist school in the Monmouth area is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychology graduate looking to gain valuable hands‑on experience within a specialist ALN setting while developing a long‑term career in education.

There is also the possibility of a permanent position with the school for the right candidate following a successful period working through the agency.

As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 and small‑group basis
, supporting their learning, communication, emotional regulation, confidence and independence.

You will develop an understanding of how individual pupils learn and communicate, adapting your approach to meet their specific needs. Your Psychology background can be particularly valuable when supporting pupils with ASC, helping you understand behaviour, communication, emotional regulation and social development.

You will work as part of a supportive school team, helping pupils access their learning and engage positively with the school environment. The role offers an excellent opportunity to put your degree knowledge into practice while developing practical experience within a specialist ALN setting.

This role involves travelling between school sites in the Monmouth area, so a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential

• A degree in Psychology or a related subject
• A genuine interest in supporting children and young people with ALN
• An interest in Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and understanding individual needs
• An understanding of psychology, behaviour, communication or emotional development
• Experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
• A calm, patient and consistent approach to supporting pupils
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Resilience and the ability to adapt your approach to individual pupils
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist education setting

In return, you will receive:

• £92.56 - £108.56 per day
  , depending on experience
• Urgent September 2026 start available

• Full‑time hours, 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
