Retail and Donations Associate role at Habitat for Humanity of Dane County
.
This position is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Habitat ReStore and maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming store environment.
Responsibilities- Serve as a point of contact with customers at the donation’s acceptance area, in the store or on the phone
- Assist with unloading or loading of items
- Provide cashier coverage when needed
- Maintain consistent donor, shopper and volunteer experience across ReStore areas
- Assist in tracking donation activity at the donation acceptance area
- Advocate for the Habitat for Humanity mission
- Complete virtual checks of store inventory and assist Communications Director with online or social media customer communications
- Inspect donated items to determine if sellable and organize them into appropriate categories/areas; assist with recycling or disposal of unwanted items
- Prepare donations and purchased product for sales floor readiness (clean, price, package, label, etc.)
- Organize merchandise and displays while maintaining a clean and safe sales floor
- Other duties as assigned
- Full-time
- 8 hour shift 8:45 am – 5:15 pm
- Tuesday to Saturday

- Understand and appreciate the mission of HFH and Re Store
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work mornings and afternoons, Tuesday through Saturday
- Proficiency with various programs including MS Office (Word and Excel), Outlook, Teams
- Knowledge of building materials and hardware preferred but not required
- Retail experience preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment
- Able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- High school diploma or equivalent
