Job Description

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.

Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.

Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.

Provide customers with ordered products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.

Recommend products to customers to meet their needs.

Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.

Follow food preparation and safety procedures, including temperature logs.

Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes.

Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.

Check product quality, review expiration dates, and take appropriate action.

Maintain store layout knowledge and assist customers in locating products.

Stay current with store promotions and product knowledge.

Maintain inventory and stock levels, noting discrepancies.

Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers; maintain logs.

Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among staff.

Adhere to food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.

Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.

Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, managing conflicts professionally.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.

Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Customer service skills
Effective communication skills
Basic math knowledge
Ability to obtain a food handlers permit after employment
