Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively and visibly.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders such as Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, coupons, and loyalty offers according to company policy.
• Adhere to the company's cash handling limits and work honestly to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
• Comply with food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions or accidents to management.
• Inspect equipment regularly and notify maintenance of repairs needed.
• Create a welcoming environment and assist customers with product questions.
• Follow all applicable laws and company guidelines.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
• Maintain honesty and integrity with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Customer service experience
• Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
