• Creative Engineering:
  Design safe, efficient, and cost‑effective steel racking systems that meet project requirements and comply with applicable codes and standards. Each project presents unique challenges.
• Technical Analysis:
  Utilize industry software to analyze structural frames, beams, bracing, mezzanines, and platforms to ensure structural integrity and performance.
• Collaboration:
  
  Partner closely with Project Managers, the Design Department, and cross‑functional teams to clearly communicate engineering requirements and support seamless project execution.
• Design Review:
  Review and verify structural drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Continuous Learning:
  Pursue ongoing professional development by collaborating across teams, exploring innovative solutions, and building diverse engineering expertise within the organization.

• Diverse Projects:
  Each project offers new challenges and opportunities to design a wide range of steel rack‑supported structures.
• End‑to‑End Engineering:
  Design systems from the base plate up, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the full construction process.
• On‑Site Fabrication:
  Work alongside an on‑site fabrication shop, allowing you to see your designs realized and maintain quality throughout manufacturing.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Architectural Engineering from an ABET‑Accredited school.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam prior to hire date.
• Proficient in verbal and written communication in English.

• Educational focus on structural engineering.
• Basic knowledge of building construction.
• Understanding of current building codes and standard industry practices.
• Experience in the field of steel rack‑supported structures.
