Job DescriptionThis is a full‑time, on‑site role for a Staff Accountant located in Monroe, LA. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for processing payroll for multiple companies, monthly reconciliations, updating and entering new‑hire packets, and other payroll related tasks. Day‑to‑day tasks include processing payroll, assisting with reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing quarterly tax returns, meeting payroll payables deadlines, and assisting the Accounting Manager with as‑needed tasks.
The Staff Accountant will also support accounts payable and receivable clerks in day‑to‑day tasks.
- Process payroll for multiple companies on a timely basis.
- Prepare monthly payroll reconciliations and general ledger entries.
- Update and enter new‑hire packets and related documentation.
- Assist with reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Prepare quarterly tax returns and related payroll reports.
- Ensure payroll payables deadlines are met.
- Assist the Accounting Manager with ad‑hoc accounting tasks.
- Support accounts payable and receivable clerks with daily requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll processing, general ledger management, and payroll reporting.
- Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll management.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Minimum 1 year of payroll processing experience.
- Minimum 1 year of Quick Books experience.
