Level I: $14.69/hour Level II: $15.54/hour Level III: $16.77/hour

Level Qualifications
  • Level I. High school diploma or GED; must have within 18 months of hire, at a minimum, a credential or certification in social work, human services, counseling or a related field.
  • Level II. A credential or certification in social work, human services, counseling or a related field.
  • Level III. A credential or certification in social work, human services, counseling or a related field, plus two years of experience.

* If applicant’s credentials exceed those required for the position, the applicant will advance to the highest appropriate level.

Level One requirement for employees hired into this position on or after November 2016. Prior hired employees Level One requirement remains High School Diploma or GED required; experience in social services agency preferred.

Basic Qualifications
  • Must meet Level I qualifications.
  • A desire to work with low-income families.
  • Self‑motivated with ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Writing skills.
  • Must have valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
Position Details (This is a sampling of duties and responsibilities of this position)

Complete an Individual Family Partnership Agreement (IFPA) on all enrolled families. Development of initial goals is to be completed within 60 days and the instrument is to be updated throughout the year. Follow-up services identified on referrals from the IFPA must be followed‑up within ten (10) days with the family.

Make a minimum of two home visits to each enrolled family, more often if additional home visits are required. Engage families in developing goals and strategies that promote family well‑being and positive parenting.

Assist families in developing strategies for transitions, connections to peers and community and families as advocates and leaders. Assist in maintaining full enrollment of center at all times and replace vacancies within 30 days.

Maintain accurate and up to date confidential records of any home visits, agency contacts and all referrals. Serve as a resource and support to enrolled families. Provide a resource directory.

Work in collaboration to engage families and the community in school readiness activities. Work with all Service Area Coordinators/Specialists/Supervisors and center staff, to carry out Head Start/Early Head Start Performance Standards.

Attend parent meetings to assist parents in carrying out the Program Governance with parent activities, including Fatherhood or Male Engagement activities. Assist parents in documentation of all parent activities for monthly reports that must be submitted on the last working day of the month.

Assist parents and education staff on a center newsletter to be provided to parents. Assist families in obtaining needed services, dentals, medical, parent meetings, special needs, Policy Council Meetings and special appointments.
