The Center for Children & Families is seeking a Child Abuse Prevention Educator to provide training on child abuse identification, reporting, and prevention as well as awareness campaigns to the northeast region of Louisiana.
Base pay range: $35,000 - $40,000 per year.

Responsibilities- Community Training, Outreach, and Awareness
- Co‑ordinate and present preapproved child abuse prevention and education curriculum.
- Maintain relationships and outreach to schools, childcare centers, youth‑serving organizations, parent groups, and other community organizations.
- Provide trainings on child abuse identification, prevention, and mandated reporting to diverse audiences.
- Facilitate and scaffold trainings for diverse audiences of various sizes, backgrounds, ages, and abilities.
- Coordinate with the Center’s marketing department concerning child abuse identification, prevention, and awareness.
- Assist in planning and implementation of community events as needed.
- Be familiar with Center programs and demonstrate the ability to present as needed.
- Collaboration, Supervision, and Administration
- Participate in continuing education related to child abuse prevention, child development, body safety, and related content.
- Accurately document all activities performed.
- Attend job‑related trainings and conferences as needed.
- Maintain awareness and sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and integrate this into trainings.
- Participate in regular supervision with the CAC Director.
- Complete time cards weekly.
- Other duties as assigned by the CAC Director.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, education, or a related field preferred.
- Public speaking, classroom and presentation experience, effective writing and computer skills preferred.
- Strong passion for and commitment to child abuse prevention.
- Must be reliable, self‑motivated, self‑sufficient, enthusiastic, and able to work both independently and as a team player.
- Must have good decision‑making skills, excellent communication skills, technology skills, and a willingness to interact with professionals in the community.
The physical demands and work environment include regular office work, walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and light lifting. Working requires regular in‑person interaction and continuous talking, hearing, and seeing. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity are required. Mental application utilizes memory, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, and creative problem solving. Regular automobile and airline travel may be required.
