The Position

This position is responsible for providing treatment to patients in the facilities served by working with the DDS, clinical coordinator, and facility staff. Registered Dental Hygienists complete on-site hygiene services, and collaborate with clinical support managers and facility staff to meet patient and facility needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review patient lists prior to visits and ensure all supplies/equipment are available for all patients.
  • Arrive on time, check in with the dental contact, and review the list of patients to be seen.
  • Transport, set up, and take down equipment and supplies in the designated workspace at the facility.
  • Coordinate transfer of patients and charts with facility staff; escalate to the clinical support manager if transport or chart issues arise.
  • Perform required care, including taking X-rays, cleaning teeth and dentures, applying sealants, and assessing patient oral health, reporting findings to the dentist in accordance with ADA and company standards of care.
  • Explain procedures to patients and follow up with facility staff to review recommendations.
  • Enter chart notes for treatment provided into Salesforce at the time of treatment.
  • Ensure OSHA safety and cleanliness regulations are followed during patient treatment.
  • Handle disposables correctly and leave printed copies of chart notes with the facility as required.
  • Work with the clinical support manager on scheduling and follow-up of patient care and treatment.
  • Maintain dental equipment through regular cleaning and maintenance.
  • Inventory supplies and place orders as needed.
  • Follow regulated OSHA guidelines in handling and sterilization of instruments.
  • Utilize a personal vehicle for equipment/supply transport and travel to scheduled facility visits.
  • Be available via cell phone during the workday.
  • Be willing and able to expense purchases for office needs and other reimbursable business-related expenses.
Location

This position covers the home market within a 3-hour radius. For locations greater than 2.5 hours, overnight lodging and meals are provided. Mileage reimbursement is included, along with paid time for driving that exceeds normal commute time. A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.

Requirements
  • Current Registered Dental Hygienist license in the state in good standing; willingness to obtain additional state licensure.
  • Valid Driver’s License with no moving violations in the last 5 years.
  • Willing to travel within a 3-hour radius.
  • Must have own reliable transportation.
  • Ability to push/pull approximately 200 lbs (e.g., patients in wheelchairs).
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 pounds in and out of the vehicle and move equipment in and out of facilities.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Computer skills – ability to log chart notes at the time of visit.
  • Organization – keep RDH supplies and dentures organized and maintain an up-to-date schedule.
