Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.

Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

As a General Merchandise Expert, you may have the following responsibilities:

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Receive products, restock shelves, organize the backroom, arrange merchandise, and put up promotional signs for GM areas.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified.
• Change prices, maintain merchandise setup and accuracy of inventory as directed.
• Learn how procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about resources, products, and services available in the store to solve issues and improve guest experience.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work safely; comply with safety policies, report hazards and correct where possible.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking/packing orders or delivering pickup orders) and comply with laws.
• All other duties based on business needs.

Basic expectations:

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb ladders.
• Safely handle and move merchandise, including lifting up to 44 pounds.
• Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable attendance.
• Work in varying temperatures and elements while performing duties.
• Be mobile for the duration of a shift.
