Summary
Responsible for coordinating the day‑to‑day operations of the UCCA Smart Start Early Childhood Resource Center, including supervision of Resource Center staff, management of the lending library and delivery program, customer service to early childhood providers and families, and coordination of outreach and special events that promote UCCA and Smart Start early childhood services in Union County.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily operations of the Resource Center, ensuring a safe, organized, colorful, and customer-friendly environment.
- Supervise staff and volunteers, scheduling and task assignment to provide quality customer service.
- Administer Surpass library management software to catalog and organize inventory, maintain patron information, track circulation, manage due dates, fines, and complete annual inventory.
- Oversee delivery program: plan routes, schedule deliveries and pick‑ups, and ensure accurate preparation and return of materials to child‑care programs.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Resource Center equipment, initiating service requests as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service to child‑care providers, Head Start and NC Pre‑K staff, family child‑care homes, therapists, and parents/guardians, selecting materials aligned with NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development and program standards.
- Build strong relationships with local child‑care centers and community agencies to promote Resource Center use.
- Develop and implement marketing and communication activities (email, newsletters, flyers, social media) in coordination with UCCA and Alliance for Children.
- Participate in program monitoring and evaluation; collect and analyze usage data, implement policy and process changes, and ensure compliance with UCCA, Alliance for Children, and host‑site policies.
- Associate degree (A.A.) in Early Child Development or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school.
- Six months to one year related experience and/or training in early childhood education.
- Working knowledge of phone systems, computer and related software, printer, calculator, copier, and fax.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and presenting information in one‑on‑one and small group settings.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
