Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Bag groceries at checkout for customers and assist with loading bags into customers' cars as needed.
  • Strive to bag at least five items per bag while ensuring contents are undamaged.
  • Follow best practices for bagging items in reusable, plastic, and paper bags.
  • Assist in removing merchandise from bottom of bas carts for checkout.
  • Inform customers of grocery specials and return merchandise to store shelves when needed.
  • Gather and return bascarts to designated areas; clean spills and collect trash inside the store and in the parking lot.
  • Clean all areas inside and outside the store; handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
  • Understand the store layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
  • Reinforce safety programs by following safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues to store management.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs to the appropriate department or store manager.
  • Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, answering questions about products sold within the department and store.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
  • Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment; manage conflicts in a constructive, cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
