State Utility Contractors, a leading environmental service facilities builder in the Carolinas, is seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our Pipeline Division at our corporate office in Monroe. Responsibilities- Help receive quotes and negotiate with subcontractors
- Facilitate crews and subcontractors on a day-to-day basis
- Manage the schedule, budget, and quality of work done on all projects
- Complete quantity takeoffs and order materials
- Correspondence with the client on any necessary tasks
- Develop change orders
- Maintain RFIs, submittals, schedules, as builts
- Confirm safety standards are followed by employees and subcontractors
- Estimating
- Develop and issue purchase orders and subcontracts
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Civil Engineering Technology is preferred.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater pipeline construction.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review and analyze documents effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet project deadlines.
- Computer and technical skills (proficient in Excel and Microsoft Project preferred)
- Desire to learn the construction project management field and grow with a company
- Professionally represent the company to the owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, government officials, and inspectors
- Detail-oriented and driven
