About the Role

We’re seeking a driven Civil/Mechanical Estimator who wants to advance into a full‑scope project estimator gaining hands‑on experience across all disciplines of estimating. You will join a highly respected estimating department that boasts 35 years of collective expertise, working side‑by‑side with senior estimators who will mentor your development.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll be involved in the full estimating lifecycle from conceptual pricing through bid day finalization and turnover to operations. You will:

  • Perform quantity takeoffs, develop pricing, and assemble detailed estimates for treatment plants, pump stations, process mechanical work, and heavy civil structures
  • Participate in project strategy, preconstruction planning, and value‑engineering efforts
  • Analyze plans, specifications, addenda, and geotechnical data to identify cost, risk, and opportunity items
  • Develop and refine cost histories, production rates, and self‑perform assumptions for continuous improvement
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to solicit, level, and evaluate competitive quotes
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support bid reviews and pre‑proposal planning sessions
  • Grow into leading complete bid assemblies
    , ultimately taking ownership of full project estimates

Every project presents unique technical and logistical challenges, giving you the exposure needed to advance into a top‑tier estimator in the water/wastewater industry.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline
  • 4+ years of progressive estimating experience in heavy civil, water/wastewater, or related self‑perform construction
  • Proficiency with HCSS Heavy Bid (or willingness to adopt quickly)
  • Strong analytical, plan‑reading, and takeoff skills with a passion for learning complex water and wastewater systems
  • A collaborative mindset with the desire to grow into a lead estimator role
