Water Service Technician - Monroe, NC at Prism Public Affairs
BVS has an immediate opening for a full-time Water Service Technician supporting our region near Monroe, North Carolina. This role is a customer-facing position primarily responsible for safely servicing and installing water systems at customer locations throughout the region. This position is accountable for building and maintaining customer relationships to maximize customer retention and collaborating with other BVS team members to achieve goals and support the business.

Responsibilities- Comply with all BVS and customer biosecurity requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with key industry contacts.
- Service, install and maintain all injection pump systems and equipment associated with BVS Water Service at customer locations.
- Provide customer training for BVS water systems.
- Support and follow all documentation and reporting processes.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations including OSHA, DOT, USDA, FDA, EPA.
- Serve as subject matter expert for customers in water quality solutions provided by BVS.
- Maintain regular communication with sales representatives and management team.
- Maintain and keep assigned vehicle clean, serviced and in good repair.
- Attend industry trade shows and internal meetings upon request.
- Travel daily to customer sites as needed to service water equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must possess outstanding organizational skills and ability to analyze and solve problems involving several options with limited information.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to interpret various forms of instructions, including written, oral, diagrams, and schedules, while working efficiently and independently.
- Adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate ability to work well under pressure with a proactive approach to unusual occurrences.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability and willingness to work based on customer needs, which may include extended workdays.
- Ability to travel overnight up to 25%.
- Infrequent travel to other states is possible, as well as occasional travel for training or company functions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in water systems, plumbing or water treatment technologies preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License required; employment is subject to a background check and an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check prior to hire and on an annual basis.
- Experience in the poultry, swine and other animal health industries preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including repeated lifting 50+ lbs, bending, pushing, pulling, and reaching, standing for extended periods, and working in tight spaces or challenging environments.
- Prolonged periods of driving to reach job sites.
- Ability to work with and around industrial hazards.
- Ability to pass a respirator medical evaluation and fit test upon hire and annually thereafter.
