JOB SUMMARY:

Perform basic mechanical maintenance, installation and repairs throughout the site on buildings, vehicles and process equipment. This includes preventative maintenance, routine repairs, emergency repairs and project work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Forklift/Manlift skills. Maintain a forklift license and manlift license per PIT program. Perform daily & weekly operational/safety checks. Fill propane cylinders for forklifts. Perform all PM and repair services for forklifts/manlifts and pallet jacks
  • Auto/truck skills. Perform daily & weekly operational repair, PM and safety checks.
  • Air compressor skills. Perform daily operational checks for the compressed air systems and the nitrogen system. Perform PM and repair service for all compressors.
  • Boiler/steam system skills. Perform daily operational checks for the boiler and steam systems. Perform boiler chemical tests, log the data, and keep chemical levels within specification. Set up and connect rental boiler for annual boiler PM, disassemble boiler for inspection.
  • Generator skills. Perform operational checks for the diesel generator, perform PMs.
  • Piping skills. Perform pipe fitting repair and installation for copper, PVC, cast iron, carbon steel and stainless steel.
  • Metal Fabrication skills. Perform basic fabrication by using cutting torch, plasma cutter, welding steel and s/s, grinding, etc.
  • Plumbing skills. Perform servicing, repair and replacement of toilets, sinks, faucets, hot water heating systems, space heaters and floor drain systems.
  • General mechanical skills. Perform servicing and repair of pumps, mixers, cooling towers, welding machines, golf carts, safety showers, hot boxes, hoses, hose reels, and process equipment.
  • Building skill. Perform painting, simple carpentry, sheetrock & ceiling work.
  • Emergency response program. Participate in emergency response program for chemical spills, fire, medical emergencies
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    EDUCATION:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

    EXPERIENCE:

    5+ yearsofrelated experience and training.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

    Fork Lift Certification

    Man Lift Certification

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
