With approximately 400 dedicated Team Members, the Monroe plant specializes in delivering top‑tier acoustic insulation, carpet, and underfloor technologies to companies such as Honda, Toyota, and Subaru

The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the Engineering function at the plant, including Process Engineering and Facilities Engineering. This position will strive to meet customer expectations as it relates to safety, quality, cost, and delivery times while also meeting or exceeding financial goals for the plant. This role will directly manage a team of Engineers and the engineering staff.
The Engineering Manager works in partnership with Corporate Engineering and the Manufacturing team to coordinate the efficient introduction of new products and tooling into the facility to ensure low‑cost manufacturing. This position is responsible for the review of capital requests and will provide revisions as appropriate, and will have annual budget responsibilities.
What you will do for UGN:
- Oversee a team of Engineers and provide direct oversight of daily work. Study functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of Team Members and work units to identify areas of duplication/redundancy.
- Establish work measurement programs and analyze work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
- Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules to determine efficient utilization of team members and equipment.
- Direct the development of manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Oversee the ongoing review, revision, improvement, and equipment for existing products and participate in finding solutions to the more complex and unusual manufacturing process problems using the team environment, including multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Oversee the process and analyze daily production efficiency and determine whether the standard, performance, tooling, or other elements of production are performing satisfactorily.
- Provide advice and assistance to manufacturing departments in connection with the solution to manufacturing difficulties; anticipate finding solutions to the more complex problems that arise, and confer with Corporate.
