Patient Registrar – Monroe

Salary Range

Wage: $22.78 – $34.96 per hour.

Locations:
Kirkland, WA;
Redmond, WA;
Monroe, WA.

Bonus:
Up to $3,000 for new hires, pro‑rated by FTE.

Job Summary

Represent Evergreen Health by welcoming patients and visitors, ensuring accurate and courteous registration, and supporting the Revenue Cycle to maximize timely reimbursement. Responsible for patient identification, safety, and collection operations.

Primary Duties
  • Interview patients or their representatives to obtain demographic and billing information.
  • Assist patients in completing consent and/or workers’ compensation forms.
  • Complete pre‑registration of patients prior to scheduled admission.
  • Manage point‑of‑service collections.
  • Identify the need for financial counseling and refer to the Financial Clearance Unit.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of insurance payers and use electronic verification systems.
  • Coordinate with House Supervisor for direct and scheduled admits.
  • Update patient type changes based on physician orders.
  • Inform surgery patients of scheduled admit and surgery times.
  • Follow downtime procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and works well with others.
  • Strong communication skills to obtain information from patients, physicians, and other clients.
  • Can function independently, multitask, and establish priorities.
  • Numerical ability to discuss financial arrangements, including deposits.
  • Good judgment in emergent situations, problem solving, and composure in stress.
  • Ability to manage work volume and disseminate status updates to team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational training or college degree in healthcare.
  • 2+ years prior experience in a hospital or medical setting.
  • Working knowledge of insurance.
