We are looking to hire a Production Lead for our Monroe Cold Smoke facility!
This position oversees daily production activities, supervises the slicing and rollstock packing operation, including the case-up area. The role ensures that employees in these capacities work efficiently and produce quality products that adhere to product specifications for each item being produced. The Production Lead is responsible for ensuring daily production volumes are achieved and that assigned finished recovery numbers are met, while ensuring employee safety, security, and proper allocation of labor cost.
Pay starts at $24.00, depending on experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Verifies weekly that there is packaging and adequate inventory levels located at the plant to ensure that the daily scheduled production run of each item has all the packaging and ingredients required to complete each production run.
- Ensures that the correct smoked raw materials are directed to the appropriate slicing and packing operations, ensuring that the right material is used in the production of each finished product.
- Monitors the condition and quality of the smoked raw materials and alerts plant management and QC staff when quality or conditions of this material fall below identified levels.
- Sets daily productivity goals for each operation, monitors production progress in the plant to meet or exceed daily production goals, and alerts plant management when daily goals may not be achieved.
- Monitors daily the labor needs of each operation (skin and trim, slicing, and roll stock operations) and moves personnel as needed to achieve efficient production levels while hitting production goals.
- Coordinates production and warehouse activities to ensure an efficient, safe, and secure operation of the facility.
- Ensures that product quality meets the written product specifications and alerts plant management when deviations are identified.
- Checks finished product from production to ensure that labeling information, case counts, and dates are correct.
- Makes sure codes are correct.
- Monitors recovery range from all production paperwork.
- Informs all appropriate personnel on the status of items being produced.
- Ensures that employees under supervision follow all safety rules and policies.
- Ensures that employees under supervision adhere to HACCP and GMP procedures and policies.
- Follows all company safety policies, procedures, and GMPs.
This position requires a well-organized, highly motivated, resourceful self-starter with excellent knowledge of seafood production processing and procedures, inventory control procedures, quality assurance standards, and safety. Must possess and exercise excellent leadership and supervisory skills. Good decision-making skills are essential. Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to prioritize tasks, work well under pressure, troubleshoot, adapt well to change, and remain flexible to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
