Resident Assistant-Dementia. Position works in the O'Rourke Dementia Stabilization Unit at Pleasant View Nursing Home.

The Resident Assistant-Dementia will care for and supervise residents with dementia-related symptoms.

Job Duties:

Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):

Follow individualized care plans to perform tasks such as oral care, denture care, hair care, bathing, dressing, grooming, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, nail care, skin care, toileting, serving meals, nutritional supplements, positioning, and more.

Monitor residents' assistive devices for safety and assist with transfers and ambulation using mechanical devices like E-Z Lift, Hoyer, etc.

Assist residents with meals, including serving, clean-up, and offering dietary supplements as per care plans.

Instrumental Activities of Daily Living:

Assist with communication needs, change bed linens, keep rooms and common areas tidy, perform laundry, and transport residents for appointments and activities.

Medication Assistance:

Assist with medication administration, monitor supplies, and document appropriately, demonstrating competence delegated by RN.

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a Resident Assistant and caregiver experience are required.
