Job Overview

Full‑time Pharmacy Technician I position at Monroe Clinic Hospital, Monroe, WI. Total 40 hours per week with a variable schedule of day shifts, evenings, and weekend rotations. Pharmacy hours: 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and standard procedures, you will assist in transcription, storage, preparation, dispensing, and delivery of medications, including non‑sterile and/or sterile compounding, operate pharmacy automation systems, and maintain accurate documentation compliant with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparation of medication orders, transcription, workflow management, and automation utilization.
  • Distribute medications to designated areas, return unused, discontinued, or damaged doses, and secure materials using automation.
  • Support inventory management: receipt, storage, security, inspection, ensuring cleanliness, rotation, and proper labeling.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and QA standards; complete all documentation and maintain records.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and ancillary departments while upholding HIPAA confidentiality.
  • Operate safely and maintain constant alertness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent for licensing.

  • No prior experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0‑25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances, including color identification.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech; able to hear alarms and machinery malfunctions.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25‑50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
Licensing & Certification

State of

Work Location:

Illinois. Must hold Pharmacy Technician, Registered (IDFPR) or be able to obtain within 2 months, plus complete registration at hire, and hold Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent within 24 months. Requirements for Missouri, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin are likewise specified.
