Medical Assistant Certified-PEDIATRICS

WI-Monroe Clinic Hospital

Provides assistance with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a registered nurse or provider (physician or advanced practice provider).

Day Shift, Monday through Friday – 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. No nights, weekends, or holidays. 40 hours per week.

• Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, scheduling patients, and filing.
• Performs basic material‑management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
• May document the provider's encounter with patients. Lists all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow‑up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider. Transcribes patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests and medications.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Education:
  
  High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience. Wisconsin only:
  Graduate from medical assistant school or training program or education equivalency for certification.
• No experience required.
• Preferred certifications:
  Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or other listed certifications such as CCMA, CMA, RMA, CMAC, MAC, NCMA, NRCMA, or AAMP.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  constant standing and walking; frequent use of hearing, speech, vision; occasional lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs, occasional driving; frequent use of keyboard/data entry.
• Licensure and
  
  Certifications:
  
  Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS HCP) and at least one of the medical‑assistant certifications listed above.
