Take your career to new heights. Come join us at MORI Associates and help us support the most exciting projects a Drafter /CAD Operator you will be part of a dedicated team of diverse professionals creating and supporting cutting‑edge solutions for our client’s critical missions. MORI is a mid‑sized nationwide company founded in 1997 with the ideals that creating an agile organization full of innovative and passionate people will progress science and technology for all life on earth.
We focus on offering a complete range of services from strategic consulting to the development of information systems and providing advanced engineering solutions. Now, let’s see if this opportunity is the right challenge for you.
Drafter /CAD Operators are integral to a multi‑discipline engineering organization. They possess excellent AutoCAD skills, manual drafting principles, and a solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building design and construction principles. Operators prepare complete sets of drawings—including multiple plan, section, cross‑sectional, elevation views, detail construction and assembly details, charts, and graphs—often using mathematical formulas to draw land contours, compute weights, load capacities, dimensions, and material quantities.
They work from hand‑drawn or computer sketches, red‑marked drawings, models, design specifications, and verbal information supplied by engineers, collaborating from concept to completion to create original drawings. Operators modify existing drawings and monitor work for compliance with applicable codes and office standards. They also maintain a working knowledge of 120/240/480V power distribution systems and prepare single‑line diagrams, panel, wiring, and lighting schedules, selecting low and medium voltage power distribution equipment.
Independently resolving most production problems, they use multiple information sources—other computer programs, internet sites, manufacturers’ catalogs, technical handbooks, manuals, and guides. Experience with 3‑D modeling (e.g., Solid Works) is a plus. Preference is given to candidates able to work onsite as needed at the Monrovia DSN facility.
