About the role
We are looking for a Purchasing Specialist to manage procurement activities with our established manufacturing partners in China and Southeast Asia.
You will work closely with our purchasing planning team to obtain competitive quotations, negotiate favorable terms, evaluate suppliers, and execute purchase orders. This is a hands‑on role focused on supplier relationships, cost efficiency, and purchasing execution.
What you'll do
- Request and compare quotations from multiple manufacturers based on purchasing requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and other purchasing conditions.
- Evaluate suppliers based on cost, product quality, production capacity, and delivery reliability.
- Recommend suitable suppliers and execute purchase orders upon approval.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and coordinate regular supplier communications.
- Monitor raw material prices, market trends, and supplier developments, providing relevant insights to management.
- Coordinate with internal planning and other teams to address purchasing-related issues.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or sourcing, preferably in manufacturing or industrial products.
- Experience working with manufacturers in China or Southeast Asia is preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to evaluate supplier quotations effectively.
- Proficient in Mandarin for supplier communication; working-level English is sufficient.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable using digital tools.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
The pay range for this role is: 50,000 - 63,000 USD per year (Monrovia, California)
