Position SummaryTerray seeks a motivated, experienced Senior Software Engineer to join the R&D Informatics team in our Computational and Data Science organization. The role focuses on developing and maintaining critical relational database architecture that supports the Laboratory Information Management (LIMS) capabilities of our small molecule discovery platform.
Core Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain informatics infrastructure (data pipelines, storage, processing) that supports downstream data‑driven applications and stakeholders.
- Develop software and data interfaces between wet‑lab instruments and the computational/informatics platform.
- Design and implement dashboards and user interfaces to help scientists access and analyze their data.
- Optimize workflows for speed, parallelization, and memory efficiency.
- Build out cloud infrastructure (AWS) for informatics pipelines.
- Collaborate with wet‑lab and computational scientists to design and develop connections to the informatics systems API and database.
- Manage, improve, and customize the research informatics platform.
- Build and maintain CI/CD infrastructure and pipelines.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related Life Science discipline.
- Highly proficient in Python and MySQL.
- Demonstrated ability to write high‑quality, production‑ready code.
- Knowledge of coding best practices, including standards, code reviews, version control, and unit testing.
- Knowledge of API design.
- Familiarity with Snowflake and AWS cloud resources.
- Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Genedata, Signals Notebook, and Benchling.
- Knowledge of general biotech wet‑lab operations.
$170,000–$260,000 annually (depending on experience and seniority); participation in the company’s option plan; 3% retirement safe‑harbor contribution; fully paid medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
