Principal/Vice Principal Pool All SchoolsThe Northwest Catholic District School Board encompasses a large geographical area including the communities of Fort Frances, Stratton, Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Atikokan. The Board is committed to providing outstanding educational opportunities within a faith based, innovative learning environment. The Board is seeking dynamic Catholic leaders that are committed to supporting student achievement through their leadership. Their role is of vital importance in providing leadership in the school, school community and system as a whole.
Responsibilities- Educational leadership, fiscal responsibility, planning, legislative compliance, personnel management, communication and community relations, register pupils and collect student information.
- Giving assiduous attention to the health and comfort of the pupils, to the cleanliness, temperature and ventilation of the school, to the care of all teaching materials and other school property and to the condition and appearance of the school buildings and grounds.
- Developing school action plans and plans for student achievement, working collaboratively with students, teachers and other school based staff members, system resource personnel, parents, the school council, community members, fellow administrators and system administrators.
- Certificate of Registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (in good standing).
- Specialist Certification in Religious Education or the commitment to obtain.
- Principal Qualifications Part 1 and 2 or with the commitment to complete in two (2) years.
- Actively practicing Roman Catholic.
- Minimum of five (5) years' successful teaching experience.
- Proven experience in managing and leading successful organizational change initiatives at the school or Board level.
- The ability to build a cohesive Catholic school community in partnership with staff, students and parents is required.
- Comprehensive and generous benefit package, including the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.
- Salary range (effective September 1, 2025):
- Vice Principal – $129,649 to $140,482
- Principal – $144,696 to $158,024
- A covering letter noting desired school and fully detailed resume outlining qualifications and experience.
- A current written pastoral reference and three (3) current professional references, one (1) of which must be from your current supervisor.
- Written authorization to contact references must be included in the application, in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
- A one (1) page statement of the candidate's personal philosophy of Catholic Education.
