On the road - Salary: $55,000 to $70,000 annually (To be negotiated) / 40 to 50 hours per week

Responsibilities- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Address customers' complaints or concerns with professionalism in customer service.
- Load and unload goods.
- Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Perform brake adjustments.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs.
- Perform pre‑trip, en route, and post‑trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
- Tarp and ensure safety and security of cargo.
- Transport and handle dangerous goods.
- Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi‑trailer trucks)
- Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2‑axle vehicles)
- Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
- Driver's License (Class 1 or
A)
- Documentation knowledge: accident or incident reports, bill of lading, dangerous goods occurrence reports, inspection report (pre‑trip, en‑route, post‑trip), maintenance and repair reports, trip reports.
- Type of trucking and equipment: dry bulk, dump truck, refrigerated, tractor‑trailer, CB radio, GPS navigation, trip recorder.
- Transportation/travel experience: international, local, national, regional.
- Security and safety: basic security clearance, bondable, criminal record check, driver's validity licence check, driving record check, drug test, medical exam.
- Transportation/travel information: drive manual transmission vehicle, travel expenses paid by employer, valid driver’s licence, willing to travel cross‑border, for extended periods, internationally, overnight, driver's abstract.
- Work conditions and physical capabilities: handling heavy loads, physically demanding, up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Own tools/equipment: steel‑toed safety boots, safety vest.
- Personal suitability: efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, hardworking, disability benefits.
