Braid Machine Operator - 3rd Shift

Join the Judd Wire, Inc. team as a Braid Machine Operator on the 3rd shift at our Turners Falls, MA facility. This role is essential for preparing and inspecting wire and cable for shipping or the next operation. Targeted training is provided from day 1 across all skill levels.

• Work from orders and special customer requirements, following verbal instructions on wire gauge and number of ends.
• Maintain desired number of ends, mount bobbins on braider carriers, and perform minor maintenance including oiling machines.
• Use micrometer to check wire gauges, separate different gauges, and change take‑up reels before overfilling.
• Cut loose ends of braid, separate bobbins, and box for return to vendor while keeping guards and shield over pulley gears and chain.
• Detect and report defective materials, improper compounding, malfunctioning equipment, and unusual conditions to supervision.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations, maintain equipment and work areas in clean and orderly condition.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of ordinary arithmetic, including decimals, fractions, and simple use of specification together with use of adjustable measuring instruments.
• Position requires moderate physical effort consisting of frequent moving, average weights, lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, etc.
