Twist Machine Operator – 3rd Shift

Twist Machine Operator in Sumitomo Electric Group company, performing twisting, binding, sintering, and related operations. Cross‑train in other production areas.

• Work from orders, special customer requirements, requisitions, and verbal instructions.
• Trace wire gauge, number of ends, picks or crossovers per inch, footage on order, and footage delivered from previous operations.
• Operate cable machines: load reel, set up closing dies, lay plate, achieve proper overlap, lay length, lay direction, correct number of conductors, tape or binder type.
• Use micrometer to check O.D. conductor size and label reel.
• Conduct any testing if needed.
• Operate tapewrap and sintering lines: load tapes, maintain tensions, run sintering line using print wheels and heating ovens.
• Work closely with process engineers to improve running conditions and report unusual conditions.
• Maintain equipment and work area clean and in proper condition.
• Perform other related duties as directed.
• Observe safety regulations.

• High School Diploma or GED and basic math skills.
• Team player, enjoys detailed work, willing to learn.
• Knowledge of ordinary arithmetic and use of micrometer.

Position requires moderate physical effort: frequent moving, average weights, lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing, pulling. Long periods of standing. Continuous mental and visual attention to repetitive work.

Working conditions may expose employee to noise, fumes, dust, solvents, hot and cold temperatures.
