Accounting Clerk

The Senior Accountant for AMB West will support the AMB West Controller in providing all AMB West properties with sound accounting services to the benefit of our guests, associates, and the community.

• Oversees general ledger accounting, month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze financial statements and prepare commentary on significant variances.
• Consolidate subsidiary and parent financial results monthly, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements and Statements of Cash Flows.
• Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts in compliance with GAAP, including intercompany processing and balancing.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Collaborate with department heads to track spending and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Assist Controller with insurance needs of organization.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities, including seasonal revenue and expense planning.
• Ad-hoc internal reporting and financial analysis.
• Assist Controller in researching accounting treatment for complex transactions.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; 5+ years of progressive experience.
• Solid understanding of GAAP; demonstrated aptitude for GL systems, sub-systems, and interfaces; demonstrated ability to deliver GL system and reporting process improvements.
• Thrives in a small team environment with moderate-to-low supervision; high regard for confidentiality; strong analytical skills; positive attitude.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent time management and organizational skills; high level of attention to detail; and flexibility to work extended hours.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Word, with Windows-based accounting system knowledge.
• Proactively build relationships and communicate with associates.
• Ability and willingness to travel between ranches in the Emigrant area. Travel to Atlanta semi-annually, or as requested.
