Responsibilities include:

Managing classroom operations, supervision, and children’s activities in the absence of the lead teacher.

Attending staff meetings to prepare lesson plans, individualize instruction using child outcomes, anecdotal notes, observations, portfolios, and assessments.

Participating in parent meetings, extracurricular activities, and special events such as Christmas plays and concerts.

Preparing educational activities to implement daily plans.

Providing information to parents via notes, newsletters, phone calls, and home visits.

Maintaining an orderly environment conducive to children’s growth and development.

Greeting children and supervising during meals, snacks, and other times.

Making home visits regarding child progress.

Adhering to school policies and procedures.

Supporting children with disabilities and attending required trainings.

Performing additional duties as assigned by the Head Start director and staff.

Willingness to further education through college classes.

Skills and abilities
