The Academy is a residential academic intervention for youth at risk of high school dropout located at the University of Montana Western in Dillon, MT. The Academy leverages certain aspects of military training—such as team accountability, leadership, and physical fitness training—to help youth build positive skills, self‑confidence, and bright futures.

• Create a safe, healthy, and highly‑structured environment in which program participants learn healthy life habits, coping skills for emotional adversity, time‑management, problem‑solving, communication skills, self‑motivation, personal accountability, and team pride.
• Maintain the safety, welfare, and accountability of program participants.
• Model all standards of conduct and provide direct instruction in leadership, military customs and courtesies, and physical fitness training.

• Associate’s degree or two years of post‑secondary study in a human‑services discipline such as psychology, sociology, social work, or education.
• Two years of professional experience coaching, mentoring, teaching, or leading youth.
• Two years of military experience.

• Must be a citizen of the United States of America.
• Must be able to pass background and driving record checks.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Montana driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
• Must have sound judgment and good character, as indicated by reference and background checks.
• Must pass pre‑employment and ongoing random drug screenings.

Hourly rate: $23.74 – $23.74.
Shift and duty differential pay may increase this base rate. A tiered pay scale offers pay increases, depending on performance, after the first six months of employment. Benefits include health insurance, paid leave & holidays, and a retirement plan. Telework eligibility:
