Preferred location:
Butte, Helena, or Bozeman; other major service locations in Montana (Billings, Great Falls, or Missoula) and South Dakota may be considered.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Strong computer, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of FERC and NERC
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple conflicting tasks and demands
- Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record
- Have or develop a working knowledge of North Western Energy supply operations
- Knowledgeable of electricity generation, energy production calculations and associated metrics
- Ability and aptitude to plan work, anticipate issues, and develop solutions to meet schedules
- Flexible and adaptable to changing of assignments and priorities of the Energy Supply Group
- Ability to travel to meetings and conferences (Up to 10% travel per year)
- Ability to pass a drug test and a background check
- P.E or ability to obtain P.E. a plus Experience in electric distribution or transmission engineering, modeling and construction preferred
- Knowledge in Project Management principles and fundamentals desired
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration, economics, finance, marketing or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record Strong computer, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of FERC and PURPA requirements
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple conflicting tasks and demands
- Relevant experience may include business strategy, market research, financial analysis, statistics and communication
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Have or develop a working knowledge of North Western Energy supply operations
- Knowledgeable of electricity generation, energy production calculations, and associated metrics
- Ability and aptitude to plan work, anticipate issues, and develop solutions to meet schedules is essential
- Flexible and adaptable to changing of assignments and priorities of the Energy Supply Group
- Ability to travel to meetings and conferences (Up to 10% travel per year)
- Ability to pass a drug test and a background check
- Master's Degree in business administration, analytics, economics or related field is a plus
- Experience in business development or electric utility preferred
- Knowledge in project management principles and fundamentals desired
- Demonstrate ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Author work products in support of regulatory filings including the application of utility tariffs
- Incorporate operational, legal, regulatory, and environmental factors in completion of assignments
- Scan, print, file and retrieve paper work
- Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Ensure all actions are consistent with North Western Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
- Work on complex technical specifications, energy forecasting, energy modeling, contracts and compliance requirements
- Combine engineering knowledge with communication skills to engage internal stakeholders, external stakeholders and the general public
- Work on complex opportunities to evaluate and/or integrate new energy supply resources.
Full-time position. Salary: $72,200 - $125,400 annually, depending on experience.
