CASE MANAGER MONTANA STATE PRISON DEER LODGE, MT

The Rehabilitation and Programs Division ensures the physical and mental well-being of inmates, delivers educational and vocational opportunities within prisons, and oversees community facilities dedicated to successfully reintegrating offenders into Montana communities. The Case Manager addresses and supports offenders assigned to Montana State Prison by using appropriate programming, education, treatment, individual program directives and release planning. The Case Manager’s duties include but are not limited to:
- Looking at system risk and transition services for offenders.
- Case Planning, prioritizing and managing caseloads.
- Classification of offenders.
- Conducting Risk Assessments through Motivational interviewing (MORRA).
- Facilitating groups related to the specific needs of the population (Victims Impact or Career Path Group Types).
The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:
- Bachelor’s in criminal justice, psychology, education or a related field.
- 2 years of job-related experience.
Alternative combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
