Medical Staff Coordinator
Status:Part Time – Non-Exempt
Reports to:Compliance Officer

Purpose and Scope of Position
The Medical Staff Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the medical staff credentialing, recredentialing, and privileging processes for physicians and allied health professionals. The position serves as a liaison between practitioners, medical staff leadership, administration, governing boards, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with accreditation standards, Medical Staff Bylaws, and state and federal regulations.
The Medical Staff Coordinator maintains accurate provider files and databases, supports medical staff governance activities, coordinates committee meetings, and facilitates an efficient credentialing and privileging process that promotes high-quality patient care and organizational compliance.

Job Requirements
- Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three (3) years of healthcare administrative experience required.
- Experience in medical staff services, credentialing, or provider enrollment preferred.
- Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) certification preferred or obtained within a designated timeframe.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Previous credentialing and/or administrative assistant experience
- Special Requirements
- Must be able to reason independently and work with minimal guidance.
- Must be able to interpret data and make sound judgments based on those interpretations.
- Must deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, judgment, and poise.
- Must be able to adapt to quickly changing priorities and schedules.
- Must be able to maintain good working relationships with all co-workers and the general public and use good judgment in recognizing scope and authority.
