RN Home Care & Hospice
Status: Full Time - Non-Exempt
Reports to: Home Care/Hospice Manager

Purpose and Scope of Position
This position is responsible for providing direct and indirect client care services primarily delivered on an intermittent basis primarily in the client’s place of residence. In the case of Hospice, care may be delivered in a long-term care facility or in an acute care facility. This position also directs Home Care Aides in performance of their duties. The primary responsibilities of the Homecare/Hospice RN are to coordinate the management of clinical activities of the patients during the assigned shift so that optimum quality of patient care is delivered at minimum cost.
Each patient is assigned to an RN Case Manager who is responsible for implementation and updates of the plan of care. Nurses visiting the patient will give verbal or written reports on changes in the patient’s condition and need for changes in the plan of care.

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Montana RN Licensure, or eligible
- One year of nursing experience required
- CPR certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Current Montana driver’s license and the ability to be insured to operate motor vehicles

- Must maintain professional conduct, patience and tact dealing with difficult situations with co-workers, patients, and visitors.
- Requires the ability to deal with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes and those who are dying.
- Must be resourceful in dealing with simple to moderate complexity.
- Must be able to prioritize duties with assistance of nursing personnel.
