Buffalo Field Campaign is soliciting proposals to conduct a threats analysis for the distinct population segment of Yellowstone bison.
The threats analysis is a critical review of adverse factors operating on Yellowstone bison, and a forecast of the ability of the migratory species to naturally adapt in the wild as a viable, self-sustaining population over the long-term (centuries).
Buffalo Field Campaign anticipates selecting a candidate to begin the threats analysis in 2022. Candidates can send questions, queries, and completed proposals to:
Preference will be given to candidates who can leverage additional funding or in-kind contributions for developing the threats analysis for Yellowstone bison.
Preference will also be given to candidates who have:
- performed threats analyses for wildlife species,
- experience studying American bison,
- special expertise and/or traditional knowledge of American bison, and
- knowledge of the biological principles of representation, redundancy, and resiliency.
