OverviewGeneral summary:
Necessary carpentry duties include building woodwork and equipment such as bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions, doors, floors, stairs, casings, and trim made of wood. This position requires experience in carpentry, roofing, masonry, and related trades as part of a maintenance team.
- Plan and lay out projects
- Work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions
- Install and repair shelving, cabinetry, walls, floors, restroom stalls, vanities, tile, vinyl, equipment supports and related facility hardware
- Use carpentry, masonry, and roofing methods, techniques, and tools
- Select necessary materials and methods for the job
- Assist with training and apply 5-7 years of relevant work experience as a baseline
- Maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces
- Assist others as part of the maintenance team and perform other duties as assigned
- Minimum five (5) years of experience performing carpentry including rough-in and finish carpentry, roofing, masonry, and painting
- Working knowledge of structural characteristics and properties of materials
- Working knowledge of sealing methods that include mechanical fasteners and clamps
- Working knowledge of maintenance and repair of commercial roofing, doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, office hardware, and ceiling systems
- Experience with a Facility Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is highly desired
- High school graduate; technical or trade school certificate in related field desired
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks (squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, standing for long periods, and arm extensions)
- Occasional exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicals; safety hazards may include cuts or bruises
