Children's Snow sports Supervisor 2026/2027 Season

Yellowstone Club is a private residential community in Big Sky, Montana, offering the world’s only private ski and golf community. The Club’s members enjoy exceptional skiing, snowboarding, golf, and outdoor recreation. The Children’s Snow sports Supervisor will provide leadership, oversight, and management of day‑to‑day operations in the Club’s Kids Ski School, ensuring the highest level of guest safety and service.

Responsibilities
  • Aid the Outdoor Pursuits Manager in the program design, facility management, assessment, risk management, and staffing including hiring, training and supervising.
  • Train instructors on how to plan, organize, and provide safe, fun, and professional instruction within the guidelines of the Yellowstone Club Snow sports School and the standards of PSIA.
  • Implement and train instructors on summarization of lessons and how to fill out appropriate progress cards.
  • Document both progressive discipline and positive staff behavior, maintaining clear and accurate records; demonstrate ability to conduct difficult conversations with professionalism, empathy, and clarity.
  • Conduct end‑of‑season performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, recognize achievements, and set goals for future development.
  • Create weekly employee work schedules and control labor based on activity level.
  • Delegate daily work assignments appropriately.
  • Provide strong leadership and inspire instructor staff.
  • Remain calm under pressure; handle crisis management as it unfolds and remain flexible to change as events happen.
  • Be organized and detail oriented, utilizing checklists or other systems to ensure no task is left undone; anticipate events and plan, prepare for the unexpected, and remain focused on the result.
  • Be helpful, respectful, approachable and team oriented, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
  • Explain and demonstrate technical ski concepts in a safe, fun, and professional manner using a variety of interactive teaching methods based on age, learning style, and ability of the student within the guidelines of the Club’s Snow sports School and PSIA.
  • Deal with and troubleshoot a variety of issues arising from employees and members throughout the season.
  • Uphold the highest levels of guest safety on varied terrain in high altitude, with varying winter weather conditions.
  • Help with completion of other on‑mountain tasks, including but not limited to set up and tear down of on‑mountain props and building and installing interactive on‑mountain content.
  • Actively participate in the Yellowstone Club Training program to meet required training and PSIA event participation requirements.
  • Maintain current and active membership in PSIA.
  • Read and understand all safety and operating policies and procedures and provide guidance to employees when questions are raised.
  • Expected to work over designated holidays to support influx of activity.
Pay
  • This role typically pays between $28.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience and certification.
  • Automatic gratuity from a leadership pool, depending on lesson volume throughout the season.
Hiring Requirements
  • Current PSIA Member with minimum of PSIA Level 2, Children’s Specialist 1.
  • Prior experience working with children ages 2‑12.
  • Minimum 2 seasons instructing experience.
  • Strong intermediate to advanced skier.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to kneel, stand, lift, bend and ski for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to withstand variable outdoor conditions including snow, ice, rain, cold temperatures and heat.
  • Must be able to lift 25–50 lbs.
