Overview
ABA-Based Special Education Tutor - Elementary Level in Montclair, CA. In-home, 1:1 tutoring with students who have special needs. The role focuses on delivering individualized instruction aligned with each student s IEP, providing daily support, and helping students build academic and functional skills.
Responsibilities- Provide targeted, in-person tutoring in Montclair, CA (2x per week).
- Deliver instruction in reading, writing, and math word problems, using ABA techniques to support engagement and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Support social skills and emotional regulation during sessions.
- Adapt instruction to meet the student s IEP goals and learning needs.
- Maintain clear communication with families and the therapy team regarding progress and challenges.
- Experience with ABA therapy;
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred. - Experience working with students diagnosed with autism in special education settings.
- Strong foundation in literacy and math instruction, especially word problems.
- Excellent behavior management skills; patient, flexible, and calm in challenging situations.
