• Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square‑foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting‑edge technology, and patient‑focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit.

• The Trauma Registrar is responsible for greeting patients, collecting demographic and insurance information, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
• Registers patients for inpatient, outpatient, or emergency room services, and obtains accurate demographic and insurance information.
• Copies insurance cards as required.
• Prepares  and distributes them with admission forms.
• Provides patients with information required by federal mandates, i.e., Patient Rights and Responsibilities, and Advance Care Directives.
• Obtains appropriate signatures and copies and/or scans all identification and healthcare coverage presented.
• Document reasons if this information is not attainable.
• Communicates all information and financial responsibility to the patient/guarantor.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred

Job Requirements:

• 1+ year working in medical and/or medical insurance areas.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
